When using a hardware keyboard with your iPad or Vision Pro, you can take advantage of a variety of powerful shortcuts while connected to a computer during a Screens session.
Connection Controls

Grab Screenshot (iPad) — ⇧⌃⌘ R
Capture the current screen of your remote computer. -
Close Connection — ⇧⌃⌘ C
End your active connection and return to the main view.
Desktop Navigation

Mission Control — ⇧⌃⌘ ↑
Display all open windows. -
Application Windows — ⇧⌃⌘ ↓
Show all windows of the active application. -
Move Left a Space — ⇧⌃⌘ ←
Switch to the desktop space on the left. -
Move Right a Space — ⇧⌃⌘ →
Switch to the desktop space on the right.
App Management

Minimize (iPad) — ⇧⌃⌘ M
Minimize the current window. -
Hide — ⇧⌃⌘ H
Hide the active app. -
Hide Others — ⇧⌃⌥⌘ H
Hide all other apps except the current one. -
Close (iPad) — ⇧⌃⌘ W
Close the active window or tab. -
Quit — ⇧⌃⌘ Q
Quit the active app.
System Commands

Force Quit — ⇧⌃⌘ ⎋
Open the Force Quit dialog. -
Lock Screen (iPad) — ⇧⌃⌘ S
Lock the remote Mac screen. -
Log Out User (iPad) — ⇧⌃⌘ U
Log out the current user session. -
Ctrl–Alt–Del — ⇧⌃⌘ ⌫
Send the Ctrl–Alt–Del command to a Windows or Linux computer.
Other Shortcuts

Type User Password — ⇧⌃⌘ P
Automatically type the saved password for the connected computer. -
Spotlight Search — ⇧⌃⌘ Space
Open Spotlight on the remote Mac. -
Backslash (iPad) — ⇧⌃⌘ \
Type a backslash character if not available on your hardware keyboard. -
Insert (iPad) — ⇧⌃⌘ |
Type the Insert character.
Some shortcuts are currently exclusive to iPad but will also be available on Vision Pro in a future update.
