Clipboard Transfers

Shared Clipboard

Shared Clipboard lets you automatically synchronize the clipboard between your iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro or Mac and the remote computer.

When enabled, anything you copy on either device is automatically transferred to the other clipboard over the network.

If Shared Clipboard is disabled, you can still transfer clipboard contents manually using the Send Clipboard and Get Clipboard actions.

You can access these actions:

Configuration

Shared Clipboard is enabled by default.

To enable or disable it:

Supported Content Types

Mac

When connected to a Mac, you can transfer:

Unsupported content is transferred as plain text whenever possible.

Windows, Linux and Raspberry Pi

Only plain text can be transferred to and from Windows, Linux and Raspberry Pi computers.

Note: Clipboard support depends on the VNC server in use. Some VNC servers, such as VMware's built-in VNC server, may not fully support clipboard transfers or may only support sending text.

If clipboard sharing is important to you, we recommend using a VNC server with full clipboard support, such as TightVNC, UltraVNC, or TigerVNC.
