Configuring a Secure Connection in Screens

If the remote computer is properly configured (see Getting started with Screens > Configuring ... for remote access), Screens can establish a secure connection to that computer using SSH. This connection method wraps the normal Screen Sharing/VNC connection within an encrypted SSH tunnel to prevent mischievous or malicious activity.

Screens for macOS

  1. Create or edit a saved screen.
  2. Under the Secure Connection tab, activate Enable Secure Connections.
  3. If Screens Connect doesn't manage this saved screen, enter the Host (local hostname, URL, or IP address), Port, Username, and Password (or select an SSH key).

Screens for iOS

  1. Create or edit a saved screen.
  2. Activate Secure Connection.
  3. If Screens Connect doesn't manage this saved screen, enter the Host (local hostname, URL, or IP address), Port, Username, and Password (or select an SSH key).
