Privacy Policy
At Edovia, we believe in your right to privacy and are committed to protecting it. Our business earns its revenue by selling software, never by monetizing your private data.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
We collect and retain as little data as reasonably necessary to provide and improve our services. Minimizing data collection reduces security risk and limits exposure in the unlikely event of a breach.
Legal Basis for Processing (EEA / UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (e.g., providing Screens Connect services)
- Legitimate interests (e.g., improving reliability, preventing abuse, ensuring security)
- Consent (e.g., optional usage statistics or crash reporting)
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Services
- Maintain account functionality
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Improve reliability and security
Crash reports, diagnostics data, and usage statistics are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for troubleshooting and product improvement.
You may request deletion of your data at any time where applicable.
Security Measures
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit.
Our Apps
Screens 4
You may delete your data (including saved screens stored locally, on iCloud, and Dropbox, as well as passwords and settings):
- iOS: Settings (gear icon) → More Settings → Delete All Content and Settings
- macOS: Screens → Preferences… → Advanced → Delete All Content and Settings
If you have a Screens Connect Account, you may delete it via:
App Settings → Screens Connect → Delete Screens Connect Account.
Screens 4 may connect to https://screensconnect.com when signed in to enable remote computer discovery.
If purchased directly from our website, Screens for macOS may contact:
- Paddle (payment processor)
- https://store.edovia.com for license validation
Screens 5
You may delete your data at any time via:
Settings → Privacy → Erase All Content and Settings
Screens 5 may connect to https://screensconnect.com when signed in to enable remote computer discovery.
Screens 5 may process:
Anonymous Usage Statistics (Optional)
Non-identifiable usage data used to improve stability and performance. This can be disabled anytime in Settings → Privacy.
Subscription Information
Subscription validation information provided securely via Apple. We do not access or store payment details.
Crash Reports (Optional)
If enabled, anonymized crash data is sent via Sentry (https://sentry.io) to help diagnose and fix issues.
Public IP Address
If usage statistics are enabled, your public IP address may be temporarily processed to distinguish devices with identical names on different networks. It is not used for profiling or advertising and is not retained beyond what is technically necessary.
Screens Connect (4 and 5)
Connection data (e.g., public IP address and port) is encrypted and transmitted securely.
Screens Connect stores only the data required to allow remote connection discovery. Usernames and passwords are never stored on our servers.
You may manage or delete your account at: https://screensconnect.com/en/manage.html
Screens Assist
Screens Assist temporarily processes connection information (such as public IP address and port) to enable remote access.
By default, this information is removed from our servers once the session ends. If you choose to reuse or keep a generated connection link, the associated connection data may remain stored on our server for as long as that link remains active. You may disable or regenerate the link at any time, which removes the associated data.
Other Apps (TouchPad, NumPad, Currencies)
These apps store no data outside the device. Deleting the app removes all associated local data.
Motorist
Motorist data (local and iCloud) can be deleted via:
App Settings → Delete All Content and Settings
